P & H Powell Hamner Nickel plated brass carbide acetylene front lamp for flat tank vintage veteran motorcycles. This one is unusual as it has a “bullseye” in the centre of the lens. I’ve never seen one before.
This front light is one of a number from a collection. They are all now going up for sale as I have no need for them.
This P & H front lamp is in nice used condition. There are parts of paint missing and the nickel plate is dull. It would suit a machine with a little patina. It has had a professional light repair to the rim (where the brass is showing through) and there is a tiny crack in the main lends around the same place as the repair. I’ve shown it in the images.
It’s a lovely size. The lens diameter is 3″ and the lens aperture rim is 4″.
The hinge and clip fastening work well. The reflector has some corrosion (shown). The wick is there.
This small lamp has the usual two fastenings at the sides.
These little lamps are hard to find now. They are especially difficult to find in this condition, with a little patina.
Please see my selection of acetylene / carbide lamps. I have burners, front lamps and more rear ones.
