Model K & other BSA flat tank antique motorbikes used the unique double barrel carburettor.

These are not easy to find. A friend owns this one and is offering it for sale on here. Many people have abandoned all hope of owning an original double barrel BSA motorcycle brass carburettor, and fitted an AMAC.

Here’s your chance to get one. It needs a few parts that can easily be made. But the important parts are there.

Condition of the double barrel BSA motorcycle brass carburettor

As you can see, it has not been cleaned up very much. It was cleaned enough to check it over for condition.

The barrel-shaped slides are actually in decent condition. They have a few very small marks but there are no deep scores. They fit well.

The barrel bores are dirty and there is some evidence of scoring but not in the important areas.

The springs for the slides are still fitted in the base of each bore. The little screw is still there on the top of each bore. This holds the slide in place.

You will need to get some new caps made. I am told that there is a Land Rover part that is very similar in shape. It will need a bit of machining to make it fit.

You will need to make some spring-clips that hold the caps onto the barrels. The post for the spring clips is fine.

I have shown where there is a small part missing on the cable guide mount.

The carburettor comes with the correct float bowl chamber. It has a float and needle inside.
