Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects WANTED

Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects WANTED.

  • Find a buyer in the UK for pre-1915 Douglas spare parts.
  • Unfinished projects of Douglas 2-3/4 HP, 3-1/2 & 4 HP.

I happen to have a Veteran Douglas 2-3/4 H.P. project that I would like to complete with original parts. The motorcycle has original paint on the fuel tank and no paint on the frame. So, this is a “patina machine” as everyone likes to call them these days. I like to call this a preservation, rather than a renovation.

Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects parts WANTED

If you have some old Douglas parts in your shed, garage, or even house, let me know if you would like to sell them. I now have a keen interest in building some more of these interesting antique motorcycles. They varied slightly over the years, so I would like to buy some more and have a range of models.

If you are looking for someone to buy a collection of Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects, please give me a call, or send me a message from this page.

My current project was supplied in 1915. It is a relatively basic model with a 2-speed gearbox and no clutch or kickstart. Starting it is a relatively simple exercise. You leave it on the rear stand and set the throttle / air valve, turn the fuel on and spin the rear wheel with your hand.

Setting off is more of an art than a science!

PARTS WANTED – Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects

Anyway, my little Douglas project is incomplete. To complete it, I still need a few parts. They include:

  • Handlebar levers
  • Complete rear brake assembly
  • Rear brake pedal 1913-1919
  • Complete Douglas 1913-1919 Oil drip assembly
  • Gear lever control 1913-1926
  • Front brake assembly 1912-1919
  • Original petrol cap with the glass fitted (the more patina the better)
  • Gear rod set 1912-1926
  • Front wheel stand 1912-1919
  • Drive sprocket
  • Exhaust
  • Rear rack
  • Tool boxes
  • Carburettor

I can buy almost all of the above as newly made items but they won’t match the condition of my motorcycle. So, I am looking for your old Veteran Douglas Motorcycle spares & projects to complete my one and start another.

If you are in the UK, I will be happy to come and meet you. We can discuss which parts you are prepared to sell. I am very easy-going and will leave you plenty of time to make a decision. My projects take months, so a few extra days are no problem.
