OK, so this isn’t going to be for the purists. It is also not for sale. I bought this post war rigid frame Triumph a short while ago. As the 3T motor was missing, the previous owner had managed to squeeze a matching year 500cc Twin motor into the frame. It’s such a good job that I plan to leave it that way.
The idea is to get a clever painter to match the patina on the tank for the mudguards. I have some other wheels that will be rebuilt and the centre lines of the rims will also be painted to match the tank. I know the 3T never had this paintwork but I like the look.
The bike will be restored so that it appears untouched since 1947, yet all of the inner workings will be restored or brand new. Fortunately, the tank has the instrument / switch panel. It seems that these are very hard to find.
Updates will come.
