I am offering this right side Douglas cylinder head for sale on behalf of a friend. This is the last of their Douglas parts and was likely refurbished by her father. He was a well-known Douglas man and was an excellent engineer. So, I feel confident when offering this as a rebuilt cylinder head.

The only small issue is that I wasn’t entirely certain it was for a Mk1 T35 or for a Mk3, 4 or 5 with the horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine. The only two main clues are the number of cooling fins. I believe that the MK3 models might have had more fins. The cast number (27649) may help someone with the parts books.

I have recently been firmly told that it is for a Douglas MK1 T35.

I suppose, if you are looking for a classic Douglas Mk1 T35 Motorcycle Cylinder head, then you will have some idea how many fins you need on your bike.

Condition of the Classic Douglas Mk1 T35 Motorcycle Cylinder head

It has been refurbished and well kept. The head, valves and springs are all coated in oil and have been sealed in plastic, as well as being stored indoors.

It looks like it has new springs and valves. I can see the guides. The stud threads for the rocker box seem good. The combustion chamber is nice and clean. There is one small fin chip. I have shown it in the images. The chipped fin is mostly out of sight when fitted as it’s one of the four small ones that face inwards near the exhaust port.

Other Douglas parts.

I might have a few parts such as rockers, rocker arms, pair of shock absorber shrouds, an original kick start pedal, set of gears, various other small parts including what looks like a gearbox selector outer cover. These are available separately and may be sold by the time that you read this. Please ask. They are not all added to this site.
