B&B Brown & Barlow throttle twist grip for 1″ handlebars on 1920’s vintage motorcycles.
Well, that’s what I think the maker of this is. I checked the AMAL and AMAL twist grip designs. Only the 1924 AMAC TT design had some similarities. However, there were only “some” of the elements.
I have looked at the last two years of Brown & Barlow throttle twist grip design. This doesn’t look like that either.
However, it has similarities with the 1923 – 1928 Brown & Barlow throttle twist grip.
Whoever made it, I am selling what you see. These original vintage motorcycle twist grips for 1920’s and 1930’s motorcycles are extremely hard to find.
B&B were fairly early adopters of the twist grip for motorcycles. They realised that the handlebar throttle lever design could be improved and launched their version in 1923.
The 1923 Brown &Barlow application for a patent on a twist grip control reads : “Improvements in or relating to operating means suitable for flexible power transmission mechanism”
The bar fitment is 1″
