Lovely BSA A7 Running again after 50 years of laying unloved

I passed this fantastic A7 on to someone who I knew would bring it back to life in a sympathetic way.

This A7 had sat in someone’s garage since 1971. The cylinder head and barrels had been removed. The likely cause of the removal, and retirement of the bike, was a big hole in one piston. However, on closer inspection of the rest of the machine, this was a bike worth preserving, rather than restoring.

The patina wear on the oil tank, petrol tank, and tool box were worth some love. So, Mick, set about the bike. The engine was rebuilt within weeks and every effort was made to leave as much grime on the bike as possible.

Well done Mick. The A7 is well on the way to be a nice running and preserved bike. A proper shed hero.
