1935 Sunbeam Model 16 250cc Hi-Cam cylinder head with valves – one year only.

This model was slightly different to the Model 14. The Model 16 Sunbeam had the “hi-cam” engine, with hairpin springs and a large timing case with “high camshaft” valve gears. Most of the models still in existence have change the hairpin valve springs for more conventional coiled ones.

These Model 16 cylinder heads are easily identified by the unusual stud pattern, when compared to something more standard, like the Model 14.. The 14 studs were equidistant. This head had two wide, two narrow. See the pics. The studs that are closer together are on the push-rod side.

The cast number is 1945M.

The fins are in very good condition. Both the exhaust port thread and the spark plug thread are in decent condition They will need a clean, but they are OK. The combustion chamber is nice and tidy too. You might need to lap the valves a bit as this head has been in storage.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.

Payment: Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.

International shipping Import Taxes: (I need to mention this as I had someone buy something from me and they were based in Europe. They thought I should list the item including all taxes and shipping. Considering import duties vary enormously, this is impractical even if it was possible). Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
