1966 Triumph T100R (Daytona) 500cc Twin unit construction engine for sale.
I’ve been holding onto this for a few years. It was intended to go with a 1966 frame that I have. I have enough parts to make a complete bike but I’ve decided that earlier bikes are my thing. So, you may see lots of Tiger 100 parts come up for sale on here, including a very nice lined fuel tank, a set of forks (complete but needing rebuild), an 18″ rear wheel completely rebuilt and loads of small parts.
I bought the engine as you see it in the images. Someone had made a good start on a rebuild. There’s plenty of evidence of decent build work. The cylinder head looks like it has had one small fin repair. All fins on the head and the barrels are good.
It comes with the clutch and stator as shown, together with the kick start. It has the crank fitted, with conrods. The cylinder walls look good. It comes with the front engine plates as shown.
It does not have valves, valve springs, or pistons. Some minor adjustments will need to be made for good fitment inside the primary cover. For example, The chain tensioner adjustment screw is slightly too long.
The engine number is shown in the images. It’s clear and unmolested. It dates the engine to 1966.
I can ship this. It will probably have to be shipped in two boxes (Barrel, head and rockers in one box) as the whole thing is way too heavy.
As I have loads of parts to build a Triumph T100, it may be worth your time making the journey to me. You can check it over before you buy. However, if you press that button to buy before viewing it, you’re committed to actually going ahead. For those who plead that they don’t understand, it’s best to view it and then buy.
Offers? No. Sorry.
This engine took me 2 years to find for my project. It’s tidy and doesn’t have nasty issues. It just needs rebuilding with a few more parts. Try to find another engine like this one for sale, at less money. It seems that they are not available at any price.
