1930s Vintage Bosch Motorcycle headlamp with flat glass – Overall Diameter 215mm (8 1/2″)

I bought this to use on a bobber project. I’ve now settled on using a much smaller headlamp.

It has the original flat glass and original reflector with just a very small amount of marks.

There are some small dents on the original shell and very light corrosion showing.

After extensive research, I can’t find another lamp like this one. So, with just the size, flat glass and wording on the rim (BOSCH, Germany Importe D’Allemagne”) my best guess is that it’s for a mid to late 1930’s Motorcycle. The mount is unusual as it is just a single mount, but there is evidence of other lamps made for motorcycles in the 1930’s where a single post mount was used on the shell. The giveaway that it’s for a motorcycle is the various holes in the shell. There’s space for an ammeter and a large switch, together with two smaller holes which are presumably for coloured bulbs.

If you know which bike it was used on, I be interested to know.

Priced sensibly. Not because I don’t love it. I just need the space as it’s not going to be used on my project.

Outside diameter: 215mm (8 1/2″)
Visible glass diameter: 180mm (7″)
Depth: 140mm (5 1/2″)
Bracket mount: Hole is on underside and is 19mm (3/4″)
All measurements are approximate.
