Cooper Stewart 80 MPH vintage motorcycle speedometer with trip, mount, gearbox, cable and drive.
- The drive wheel has 18T. The drive turns the gearbox and cable. I have removed the cable from the back of the speedometer and can see the cable end turning.
- The trip reset is manual. You have to wind it back to “00” but it works.
- It comes with a handlebar clamp already fitted.
I have attempted to make the speedometer needle move by turning the drive cable by hand. I can’t make the needle move, so assume the worst. If I get time, I will try it with a drill.
The good news is that is a complete set up (apart from the drive gear that attaches to the front wheel. The outer rubber cable covering has seen better days. It will ned replacing really as it’s a bit sticky to touch in places.
If you want a British-made Cooper Stewart vintage motorcycle speedometer at a sensible price, but not bothered if it actually works, then this is a great buy. It might actually work but it’s not priced for that.
