Early 1930’s Bronze AMAL vintage motorcycle carburettor, 3/4″.
Triumph WO / WL, Douglas, BSA, Levis, Raleigh MO, Royal Enfield, James.
This lovely little bronze vintage motorcycle carb has been taunting me for quite a while. I couldn’t find a record of the models that it was made for until “Joe the Carb” helped me. Thanks Joe.
I have it on good authority that this 04/027 carb was made by AMAL for the following vintage motorcycles:
- 1932 Douglas 500cc
- 1931 BSA 250cc
- 1931/2/3 James 250cc
- 1930 Levis 250cc
- 1930/1/2/3 Raleigh MO 300cc
- 1930/1 Royal Enfield 350cc
- 1931/2 Triumph 250cc
- 1930/1/2 Triumph 350cc
It appears to have most of the components. Please take a good look at the pictures.
The complete stamped number is 4/027 DX6956
You might need to engage the services of Joe the Carb for a professional rebuild if you feel it necessary.
