Marston Sunbeam Model 9 engine OUTER timing cover.
I can’t be absolutely sure that this outer cover is for a Model 9 somewhere around 1930. However, it came to me with an engine kit that I bought as a back-up for my 1930 Model 9.
I sold my 1930 Model 9 Twin Port some time back. So I have decided to let go of a lot of spares that I have accumulated over the years as I am now only keeping one smaller Sunbeam.
Please take a look at the other Sunbeam items for sale. Of note: I currently have an original inner timing cover that fits this outer cover. If it’s still for sale, it will be in the Sunbeam listings.
This Sunbeam Model 9 engine OUTER timing cover is a casting. It will need to be drilled and polished to finish.
It cast the number 29 stamped in the inside face. Presumably, this ws in the mould from the original part.
Please check with a knowledgable friend if you aren’t sure that this is the correct parts for your needs. Or, join the Sunbeam Owner’s Club and ask their opinion.
Condition of the Sunbeam Model 9 engine OUTER timing cover
Used and still dirty. However, I have checked it over and it appears to be free from welds or cracks. The fastening holes look OK and it still has the locating pin.
I haven’t cleaned it because someone might want to try to match a “survivor” engine.
