Mid 1930s Excelsior 2 stroke original steel petrol tank.
Possibly for a Pioneer or Empire model.
It looks a bit rough bit it’s basically solid. The hand change gear lever is still mounted to the tank and the brackets are there for the gear gate.
I have given it a rub with a wire brush on the underside (near the tap hole) just to get rid of any loose paint and to check condition. It’s solid under the light surface rust. Look at the images. It seems to have what’s left of the original paint as you can just make out “Excelsior” on the right side. No nasty dings.
It might suit other bikes and models but, from my brief research, I think int’s from a mid thirties Excelsior two stroke motorcycle.
It will need cleaning out.
