Original 1949/1950 Smiths 120 MPH Chronometric Triumph Speedometer S. 467/19/L 5T T100.
I happen to have a Triumph 3T without a speedometer. I bought this for that bike. I am quite sure that it will work fine, but my bike is 1947, and this Smiths clock is for the 5T and T100 in 1949 and 1950 according to my parts books. So, it’s up for grabs.
It’s the real thing. It has the Triumph rev indicator markings on the face.
Condition: Despite the boyish good looks, this is a genuine circa 1949/50 smiths chrono and is being sold at this price because it might need refurbishment. It’s used and only tested with a drill. It’s being sold on the basis that it will need refurbishment. However, if I was going to use it, I’d try it on a bike first.
If it didn’t work properly, then I’d send it to a repairer. As you can see, it needs a good clean. The bezel is worn and the back has age-related marks.
