Panther Redwing 1930s Cylinder head with rockers, piston and Barrel.

The bore is approximately 58/59mm. Not being a Panther specialist, I wouldn’t know if this is the Redwing M80, M85, M90 or M100. You decide. If you know which model and year it’s from, I’d be interested to know. It’s always a school day.

Update: I have been advised that this is likely to be for a Model 80 348cc from 1935/6. (Possibly also for 1934). If you need more dimensions / pictures, please ask.

The cast number on the barrel is 814 and the cylinder head is 739.

I’ve removed the rocker “caps” (they’re more like plates) to reveal the rockers and to be able to show them in the pictures. Both the head and barrel will need refurbishment but the fins are good. The valves are in the head but they will probably need to be freed off. The piston was inside the barrel and it was a good fit, so I imagine it was the original one. The barrel bore will need some attention as it wasn’t greased before storage.

What I found interesting was the rocker cover plate. The emblem doesn’t match any of the 1930’s Panther models that I’ve seen. They usually had text.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.

Payment: Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.

Import Taxes for international shipping: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
