Powell & Hanmer P&H original Small carbide acetylene front lamp for flat tank vintage veteran motorcycles.
The model number is 136.
This light is one of a number from a collection. They are all now going up for sale as I have no need for them.
This P & H front lamp is quite small. It would probably suit a Pioneer or early veteran lightweight motorcycle, such and a Levis or Douglas 2 3/4. I have quite a few these acetylene lamps but I’ve never seen one like this. It has a simple 3-bolt attachment, with a small (rear-facing) red lens. It has a very tiny ding in the left side as you face the lens / lamp. It would push out. The patina is lovely. You could polish it up a bit more as the nickel plating is dull. The lens appears to be original and free from cracks. The original reflector is OK too. It’s not shiny-new but it’s decent.
In short. It’s cute!
The lens diameter is 3″. The outer rim is 4″ diameter.
These little lamps are hard to find now.
