Powell & Hanmer P&H original Small nickel plated carbide acetylene front lamp for flat tank vintage veteran motorcycles.
This light is one of a number from my collection. They are all now going up for sale as I have no need for them.
This P & H front lamp is quite small. It would probably suit a Pioneer or early veteran lightweight motorcycle, such and a Levis or Douglas 2-3/4.
It may be small but it’s perfectly formed. (That’s for the Kylie fans out there). I have plenty of acetylene lamps with patina, but this one makes a change. If you are going for that highly-restored look, then this one might suit your veteran.
It’s not perfect. > there is a tiny bit of corrosion inside. You have to look hard though. The reflector appears to be original. It has marks, but it is intact. The lens is fine (there’s a little mark on the inside). The hinge and cover clip work well. It has a good little wick / burner.
At first, I thought it might be suitable for a sidecar. However, it has a pair of side mountings, so I guess it’s a headlamp.
The lens diameter is 2.75″. The outer rim is 3.5″ diameter.
