This Pre Unit Triumph Timing cover with Tacho Drive E4167 is the correct fitment on the 650cc TR6 and T120 models circa 1960-62.
You can also use it on the 500cc 5T and 65occ 6T models from 1954 onwards + T110 models from 1960 to replace 70-3110, E3110. From the cast numbers, it looks like this was a late casting as it shows C65. This normally means that it was cast in 1965.
This is an original part and Made in England from polished alloy.
Condition of this Pre Unit Triumph Timing cover with Tacho Drive E4167.
It’s an original part and has been used. At some point, some must have drilled a hole at the rear section.I presume it was for faster access to the magneto pulley. I suspect that was done when this was used on a race engine. The lock wire is a hint to the heritage. Anyway, the hole has been welded up. You can just see a few dimples from the outside. I have shown photo’s of the outside and inside of this area. The weld is very neat.
The facings are decent. It doesn’t have any deep gouges and the tacho drive turns.
