Prewar Norton ES2 Model 18 Iron Cylinder head 500cc OHV.
1930s Norton vintage motorcycle engine part for sale. Single cylinder 499cc Norton cylinder head in good condition, complete with valves and springs.
I have looked through a whole load of prewar Norton parts books. I can’t see the number E6692 in any of them. However, I have been advised by someone who knows a lot more than me about Nortons, that this is for an ES2 or Model 18 from about 1936 -on. Please make sure that thus is the part that you need before you buy.
Condition of the Prewar Norton ES2 Model 18 Iron Cylinder head
It’s used. I haven’t removed the valves. However, I have checked the combustion chamber and I don’t see any cracks or pre-detonation marks. There is a little bit of carbon, but not much.
Most of the fins are there. I have one in particular, that is chipped. If you look at one of the underside images, there is a very small chip to the lowest fin.
The spark plug thread is fine. I have screwed a plug in and the threads work OK.
Other Norton spares:
I have quite a few Norton motorcycle spares that will be coming up for sale. This includes rigid frame wheels, and early 1950’s parts including an ES2 frame. I have quite a few gearboxes. Please ask, or have a look through my Norton spare parts.
However, I only have one Prewar Norton ES2 Model 18 Iron Cylinder head. If you need it, this is your chance to buy it.
