NOW SOLD
War Issue WD 1941 WD BSA M21 engine cases with matching case halves.
The engine cases are in decent condition. They are now 80 years old, so expect a few marks! The important bits are:
- Engine case halves have matching number stamps.
- The engine is stamped with W M21 1941. According to my lists, the 600cc M21 was supplied in 1939 and 1940 as civilian bikes. I think the WD mainly used the 500cc M20.
- This set of cases were one of 212 ordered by the War Department in 1940, with contract number C7370. (Thanks Ron for this detail)
Just above one of the casing stamps, there appears to be a number, 66-1180 (or 86-1180). It take this to be the BSA part number as the number on the inside of one casing is 66-1602.
So, if you’re after a genuine set of BSA M21 engine cases with the War Department “W” stamp, then here’s your chance.
