I know it looks like a shed in some outback farm, but we are in the lush Cambridgeshire countryside and this building will be my new base in a few months.
The new bespoke home for old motorcycles (not yet retired) is looking like a building. The boarding for the walls went up today. The plan is to have a roller shutter on the gable end so that it’s easy to get the bikes in. However, the roller shutters will have glazed inner doors for added security and some extra light when we are there during the day. The floor will be heated, so our precious motorcycles won’t suffer from any condensation.
While the outlook is beautiful, this place is very secure. The whole range of buildings are protected by perimeter laser beams for a general alarm. It has only one main road point of entry which is secured by an electric gate and our building will have its own independent alarm with cameras. The lengths you have to go to nowadays!
Hopefully, I will be able to organise a few coffee mornings here for my fellow motorcyclists very soon.
