1929 500cc M8 AJS vintage motorcycle rigid frame with gearbox & original saddle tank.
Love the look of this early saddle tank AJS model. You can just about read the frame numbers but this is a rigid frame without the post war conversion to a plunger rear end. It looks like the frame has a very old repair on one of the lower rails.
I already have a taker for this, but thought I would share how it looks with a nice little appropriate AJS 2-stud gearbox.
With all of those shiny restored bikes out there, this would stand out if it was built up as a survivor. The tank still needs a clean out but the threads seem OK. It’s not rotten and is still solid. If I was keeping it, I’d just Anker Wax it and ride. Yup, apparently that’s how the product is spelt:)
