1938 Triumph Tiger T70 single 250cc grass tracker

I bought this little T70 on a whim, but there is a plan.

It has been used as a grass tracker and runs on methanol. Consequently, the barrels have been shaved and there’s not much left of the original bike.

The plan is to get rid of the heavy (and rare) pre-unit Triumph sprung hub and I might get rid of the AMC forks too. I will keep the engine, Wassel fuel tank and original oil tank as a unit. They will be set aside for future sand racing in this frame. They will be replaced by a spare T70 engine that I have in standard format, together with standard oil and petrol tanks. If anyone has some spare instruments for the petrol tank, I’d like to hear from you.

The whole bike will be set up for road use as I already have a set of appropriate girder forks. When a sand race is coming up, the wheels, gearing, handlebars, and methanol set up will be installed. Well that’s the plan until I can find another T70 frame.
