Vintage Prewar motorcycle horn klaxon CLEAR HOOTERS Ltd HF225 Model with patina
International shipping available.
I’ve been hanging onto this for a while and I haven’t used it. So it’s time to let it go. This particular HF225 Model from Clear Hooters Ltd isn’t easy to get hold of. I’ve held onto it as I thought I would swap one of my dull Lucas horns for this nice Art-Deco look.
It’s a 6V horn that was used on many models. I’ve seen them on Sunbeam (appropriate, given the cover design), Calthorpe, BSA, AJS, Royal Enfield and more prewar motorcycles.
Condition: Used and with plenty of patina. It still has some of the original black paint on the back cover and mount. The front cover hasn’t been cleaned recently but the coating has been worn where it was polished in the past. It is missing one fastening screw on the front cover. Does it work? Well, it moans rather than hoots! It will need a clean inside as it just makes a gravelly whimper when I attached it to a battery.
