Pre-war Triumph Pre Unit Rigid Frame gearbox 500cc 650cc T264 SM1040

Thunderbird, 6T, T100, 5t, Speed Twin etc, as long as they are the rigid framed variety. It may fit the 3T Deluxe. I’m not sure about that though.

The main case has a cast number T264. The gearbox has a number is TE23804. This is a much earlier sequential number when compared with my another rigid Triumph gearbox that I have. That one shows T264A and the individual sequential number TE112427.

T264 seems to be just prewar and T264A / B seem to be post war. By 1950 the cases had T909 and T910 on them.

So, I guess the part number for this one is 57-0264. Please refer to your parts list before believing a word I’ve said here. It also has a stamped number that appears to be a patent number. This number isn’t shown on later cases that I’ve seen.

The box has the selector indicator, the gear cluster and more. Please have a good look at the pictures. Ask questions if you need more info. Two of the mounts will need a repair if you want to make it correct. They look strong enough though. The drive sprocket will need to be replaced.

This is being sold as a gearbox needing rebuild, as I haven’t touched it. It turns fine.

International shipping available. Please ask.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.

Payment: Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.

Import Taxes: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
