NOW SOLD – Off to Germany
Douglas Model D motorcycle gearbox 211cc, about 1912 to 1924, with belt drive pulley I have to admit that I didn’t know which machine it was for. It came to me in a box of very early Velo parts and a few small girder fork parts.
It was suggested that it might be for a 211cc New Hudson machine. I imagine the 211cc was significant, as I am now reliably informed that it is infact for a Douglas Model D from the early to mid twenties. It might suit other lightweight veteran or vintage motorcycles from about mid 1920s back.
The cast number on the case is 1149 and the stamped number is 20/1596. So, if the images and the numbers provide you with enough evidence that it’s correct for your needs, then this could be yours.
The gears turn. As you can see, one of the outer cover fixing points is broken and there are no fastening nuts. Other than that, this is a decent little box.
