Rudge 4-valve OHV 500cc 1924 vintage motorcycle engine.
Bore and stroke: 85 x 85.
It’s an old engine that has been stored for quite a while. So, it will need a rebuild really. There are a few parts missing. The obvious things are push rods and tubes.
However, the engine case halves have matching numbers. It has a decent set of fins on the head and the barrel. There are just two really small chips as shown in the pictures. The splines look good on the crankshaft and it still has the oil pump housing.
Consider it a very good spare to have around, or (if you’re clever in the machine shop) then this is a good engine almost complete.
If you are in the UK, I’d advise coming to see it first. Or, if you are outside the UK, get a friend to come.
