Lucas DU142F 8″ headlamp with original obscured flat glass & switch panel.

I believe that the DU142 is the 7″ version and the DU142F is the 8″ diameter headlamp.

The 7″ one are more easily obtained, but an original 8″ one with the obscured flat glass is a lot more difficult to find. So, here’s you chance. As you can see, it’s an empty shell and the switch panel is also empty. But those parts are available as they are common with many other Lucas lamps.

I’m pretty sure that the Lucas DU142F was only available for a few years in the 1930’s. They might have been available in 1936, but it is commonly thought that they were used between 1937 and 1939.

The shell is decent and without any many dings. It is chromed and shows wear and tear. The flat, obscured, lens is loose and the rim has been painted on top of the chrome. The reflector is there. It has some marks but suits the patina of the headlight.

To complete this lamp, you will need The CZ27 Ammeter, a Lucas 4-position headlamp switch (Off, High, Low, Charge), and some internals like a bulb holder and clips to hold the glass in place.
