1952 vintage Triumph T100 500cc Twin pre-unit motorcycle engine cases for rigid frame bikes. Of course, this set of cases will fit later pre-unit swing arm frames. However, you might prefer to look at the other engine cases that I have that are dated from the mid-50’s if you have a Swing Arm machine.
This is a decent set of pre unit Triumph engine cases from 1952. The engine number is clear and unmolested – The number is shown in the images.
Although these cases were supplied with an iron barrel and head, they would be suitable to be paired with the close fin ali head and barrel. I happen to have some close fin barrels and heads that will be for sale on here. I also happen to have some appropriate iron barrels and cylinder heads at the moment.
These will be fine for a 5T / Speed Twin if you’re not bothered about the whole matching T100 / 5T thing.
This engine cases have:
- Matching case half numbers (meaning they are paired and have been together since original assembly)
- Decent crank cases without any major issues.
This set of engine cases has a few marks as you would expect. However, there are no major issues to report. The only thing worth mentioning is two small cuts at the rear of the cases where the barrel meets the cases. I have shown them in the images. You could probably run the engine as it is, but as it’s apart you might as well have a couple of small welds done to fill them.
