Flat Tank AJS Motorcycle 500cc / 800cc Front wheel, Hub, Spindle from before 1928.
I have this beaded edge 21″ diameter wheel rim, with a pre-1928 AJS mid-size to larger capacity model front hub. As we all know, original hubs are difficult to find. This one comes with a spindle together with a locking ring (as shown).
The rim is lightly corroded but usable. The spoke are there but it will need to be rebuilt with new spokes ideally. The AJS front hub has been party over-painted and could do with cleaning off. Under the paint, it seems OK.
Dimensions
- 6 cm max width of rim
- Rim is about 53.5 cm diameter.
- Front wheel is 40 spokes with the spindle and lock nut.
So, if you happen to already have a Model 8, 9, or 10 flat tank AJS vintage motorcycle, then this front wheel would make a good spare.
