Lucas 6.5″ diameter DU42 Headlamp with flat glass, switches and wiring
Apparently EX War Department. The glass is that nice obscured flat type that would look nice on a late 1930’s bike.
Don’t confuse this with the modern reproductions. This is an original lamp with the correct Lucas rear panel / beam unit / switch/ ammeter.
It could do with a re-paint if you want something perfect. I like them just like this with a little wear and tear.
I say “apparently” it’s ex War Department because I was told this. I think the Lucas light switches during WW2 had a different setting other than off, low, high. Might be wrong there. Anyway, It’s a lovely old Lucas DU42 that will make a very nice addition to someone’s motorcycle.
