Lucas Magneto Magdyno MSL1-10 M.S.L.1-10 Dec 1935 Sunbeam and others.
This has come to me in an exchange of parts. The Lucas MSL 1-10 Magneto does produce a spark, but it’s weak. It’s more likely to annoy you, than hurt you, if you hold the end and turn using a drill.
While this Lucas MagDyno works, it still needs a few parts. The nut is missing on the end of the dyno and I think there are springs missing inside the main cover for the Magneto.
The magneto is dated December 1935 and the dynamo is December 1930 by the look of it.
It looks almost identical to the one on on my little 250cc Sunbeam Model 14 from 1936. I could keep it as a spare but it may help someone out, so it’s available.
I have done what I can to show the parts with the covers off. Please look at the images. The only obvious damage is a small crack in the body where the cable mount is. I have shown it in the images. Mount threads are nice.
