Miller 6 inch headlamp with three main / meter switch holes.
While this headlamp might suit some of the Rudge, Velocette and Vincent models, it has one addition that determines that this particular headlight was from a Civilian version of the Royal Enfield “Flying Flea” 125cc 2-stroke. It has a holder inside the cone that provides a housing for a 3V battery for the parking light and the switch. I am told that it connects the lights to the engine stator, or the battery, when the engine isn’t running.
Original Miller glass and headlight rim. The shell is in decent condition. This complete Miller 6″ headlamp has light patina. It could do with a bit more of a clean. The headlamp rim is a genuine Miller one. The glass is original Miller glass. I have shown how the inside looks.
The Lucas switch is a nice original one with DIM-OFF-FULL settings.
Miller headlamp switch is suitable for: Rudge, Velocette, Vincent and some Royal Enfield motorcycles. Switch diameter including bezel: 2 3/16″ (5.5cm)
The rim has two small dings to the right of the “Miller” logo. I imagine both of them could be made to look better but they aren’t terrible. The only other thing worth mentioning is that one of the surrounds for the side fastenings needs a small rivet to hold it back in place.
Dimensions are approximate.
- Total length: 8 1/2″ (front of glass to tip of the cone)
- Glass diameter: 5″ (As you see it when fitted)
- Rim diameter: 6″
No attempt has been made to see if this lamp works.
