Pioneer /Veteran or vintage motorcycle flywheel marked with Sprocket Blackburne, Calthorpe, Levis, Other?
This flywheel came to me with some other early Pioneer / Veteran & vintage motorcycle parts. It’s one of two early motorcycle side valve engine flywheels.
- The overall diameter is 10″
- The keyway diameter is 5/8″ inside diameter tapering to 3/4″ on the sprocket side.
- It weighs 8lbs 11 oz or about 3.9kg
It is what it is, I suppose. A big round lump of metal with a shaped hole in the middle. But, it is an original part and this one has some numbers stamped. The similar flywheel is stamped with an E. It is stamped with 15725. I guess that’s either a part number, or maybe relates to the engine number. This flywheel doesn’t seem to have any markings to help identify it. Let me know if you know. It’s always a school day for me.
