Antique motorcycle LUXOR Acetylene/ Carbide front lamp or headlight with mounting brackets

Luxor, from Paris, are a maker of acetylene headlamps for a variety of French motorcycles, from the 1900’s to 1920’s. It makes a change from P&H, Miller or Lucas. So, if you have a French flat tank motorcycle and you could do with a French acetylene headlamp (with mounts), then here’s your chance.

It’s in decent condition with nickel plating where it should be, and a painted black body. I understand that the black body was common. There is some wear to the nickel plating. This is especially the case on the rim where many years of handling while opening / closing the rim clasp has taken place.

Bottom line. It’s in decent condition and would suit a restored bike if you polished it a bit. But it would equally go with a nice patina machine.

The glass is there and it has the burner installed.

It is missing the reflector but the wick installation is there.
