Vintage Triumph Flat Tank 1920s oil pump plunger with end nut, cap and knob.

This Triumph flat tank oil pump plunger comes as you see it. It moves freely. From what I can see it’s only missing the leather washer and a steel washer. The special end nut is fitted. The leather washers are currently available from “veteran Triumph” in two sizes. They are relatively inexpensive too.

I have a 1924 Triumph catalogue. From what I can work out, there were two types. One from 1910 to 1913, and the other from 1915 to 1924 (and probably a bit beyond). What they expected owners of 1914 machines to do, I’m not sure!

Anyway, according to the parts list, the numbers of each item are as follows:

  • Oil pump: 183
  • Plunger knob: 184
  • Plunger cap: 185
  • Bottom nut: 190

It’s for sale as you see it. It’s been sitting in my box of early Triumph parts for years and I’ve never had a need to use it. So, I can’t vouch for its usefulness. But I am pretty certain that it’s an original part.
