Vintage, Veteran or Antique motorcycle WESTWOOD brass rear lamp for Carbide Acetylene burners.
These bullet-shaped rear lamps are unusual to me. I have had all of the usual ones from Lucas, P&H and Miller. I guess it would suit a sidecar too. This Westwood carbide acetylene rear lamp might be for US-made motorcycles such as Harley Davidson or Indian. If you definitely know about these lamps, please let me know.
This particular Westwood brass rear lamp is in good condition, but with patina. By that I mean that the original nickel plate is mostly worn or mellowed. In this case, I have not made any attempt to polish the light as it’s possible that someone will want it for a vintage motorcycle with patina. It is nickel plated. I happen to have another one of these Westwood lights but I the red lens is different. The other lens is smooth rather than this prism “cut” type that you normally sea on P&H, Miller and Lucas carbide acetylene rear lamps.
Anyway, it is what you see in the images. A very nice example of a brass, nickel plated, sidecar or rear tail light for a veteran, vintage, or antique flat tank motorcycle. There is no wick installed but the wick holder is there.
