1920s AJS Vintage motorcycle flat petrol oil tank.

If you already have a 1920s Flat tank AJS, then you will instantly know which model this is for. I’m guessing it is for bikes between around 1924 and 1928. It may be for the 1924 B model, or later 500cc H8. Maybe a 1926 Big Port 349cc OHV, or a K6, K7, G8.

Here are the dimensions of the fixing points, together with the overall length, height and widths.

  • Overall length: 50.6cm
  • Length of the underside: 48cm
  • Width at widest point: 20.8cm
  • Width at narrowest point (near rider): 10cm
  • Height: 10cm
  • Distance between two front mount points: 11cm (centre to centre)
  • Distance between two rear mount points: 11cm (centre to centre)
  • Distance between front and rear mounting points: 27.6cm (centre to centre)

If you are unsure if it will work for your AJS frame project, then bring it to me and see if the tank will fit before you buy.

Condition: Overall good. nice and clean inside. As you can see, it has just one cap. It also has a small ding in the front left as you look down from the rider’s position. The seems are nice.

International shipping available. Please ask.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.

Payment: Good old fashioned money on collection is preferred. I can accept payment through PayPal or by bank transfer as well.

Import Taxes: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
