Best & Lloyd flat tank hand oil pump 1.25″ dia, mostly for AJS, with oil sight glass & regulator.
I happen to currently have a different hand pump that is unique to AJS, It has the arm that leaves the pump and stretches over the side of the tank. Please see my other items for it.
The diameter of the pump tube that goes into the tank is 1.25″ which suggests that this Best & Lloyd hand oil pump was mostly supplied for AJS flat tank motorcycles. Of course, it could be for others.
It’s seems to be almost complete, with the exception of the little disc on top of the sight glass.The oil drop regulator disc can be bought from the VMCC. You can even choose between the pre-1922 style of the post-1922 one. The difference is the font on the “3”. The plunger top has the original “Surprised Man” Best and Lloyd logo.
I haven’t tried it in oil but there seems to be plenty of spring pressure and there is a plunger inside.
This particular pump has an extra mount plate / disc, with 6 holes. If that suits your needs, great. If it doesn’t suit you needs, then the usual Best and Lloyd 3-mounts are there.
