Levis Popular model. I have another one of these engines for sale separately. That one is rebuilt and is available with the flywheel and exhaust. This one comes just as you see it. It will need a rebuild. To be fair, there’s not much to them.

It comes with the little magneto chain sprocket. There is a crankshaft, connecting rod and piston. The barrel is in ok condition. It will need a good clean. The head is oK. There is one chipped fin near the spark plug hole (as shown).

I think these engines were supplied for the Levis Popular models, and other lightweight Levis motorcycles up until the early 1920’s, This particular motor has an engine number stamped: 1517C. A Levis vintage or veteran motorcycle enthusiast will probably have the engine number information to hand in order to date it. I just had to go on previous engines that I have owned, together with what is available online.
