Triumph Pre Unit motorcycle 1938-55 Crank cheek E1460 & Conrods E1450

This is one of the early Triumph twin pre unit 500cc crank / flywheel for the Speed Twin 5t, and T100 models. It might have been used on the 650cc models. I am not sure.

The crank is bolt-up type, sometimes described as a Bell crank. Most people refer to it as the “small bearing” type, as opposed to the “big bearing” cranks that had big end bearing shells.

Numbers:

  • Connecting rods: E1450
  • Crank cheek/ bell: E1460

This is a crank came before the “big bearing” engines. I have supplied the numbers, so please make sure it’s the correct crank and conrods for your needs before you go ahead and buy.

The threads are OK.

The connecting rods come with the caps and nuts. The distance between the big end and small end centre-to-centre is 6 ½”. I think you can use conrods numbered E2923 as a replacement (or conversion) for the original E1450 conrods that are fitted.  You will need to make sure of that yourself. E1450 was supplied between 1938 and 1955.

If you can, please come and look at this before you buy it. I’d rather that you took your own measurements.

Viewing: Please come and check it over before you buy. It is at PE28, near St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

Shipping: I usually ship to most destinations. If you don’t see a price, please ask. Thanks. International shipping available.

Collection: If you don’t want it shipped, I have plenty of space. If you can’t collect for a while, it’s not a problem. However, I will need to be paid very soon after the sale. Thanks.

Import Taxes: Please note that IMPORT DUTIES are not something I can control. If you are buying from outside the UK, there is a chance that you will have to pay import taxes. Import taxes vary from country to country. If there are charges to pay, it is the buyer’s responsibility to research the cost and pay the duties. The price that you see on my advert is for the item and not the item plus whatever taxes might be due.
